OK. SO. I KINDA LOVED THAT EPISODE. I mean, it wasn’t so attention-grabbing-and-maintaining as the rest, but by the end I really enjoyed it. Joss Whedon, man, ilu.
If I’d watched it in any kind of quality I’d be capping the hell out of it. Giles and Spike swinging together. Spike has gnomes outside his crypt. KING GILES SINGING. Singing the explanation! LORD. I liked Joyce in this episode. “A mouse is playing with my knees.” Also whoa human Adam? “We better make a fort.” “I’ll get some pillows.” Haa yes.
I have one request: PLEASE LET CHEESE GUY BE SIGNIFICANT. They can’t all dream the same cheese guy and not have him matter. “I wear the cheese. It does not wear me.”
Anyway, I just liked the whole first slayer thing and Buffy’s talk with her. Such good dialogue. It made me like Tara more too, even though she was more of a vessel. I’d like to find out her secrets.

yeahhh everyone loves that episode? i didn’t really pay attention because i was watching with my brother and he was like uh wtf is this so we skipped like the last half. idk man, idk.
WHAT. Please please please tell me you went back and watched the last half. How could you not? I mean, I can see not liking the episode, but it seems important. Though of course I have no idea what happens in the next three seasons.
that episode is brilliant! one of my favorites! i already knew what was going to happen next season so most of it made sense. it is really an absolutely brilliant episode! GAH! i love it! asdfghjkl;
We would have the same favorite Buffy episodes~ Just don’t tell me what happens, I like how I’ve managed to stay so clueless so far, despite the show being ten years old. AGH I want to go watch season five now.
