madsmikkelsex asked: 37. Share an unpopular film opinion you have.

umm. just one?
wall-e is boring as fuck.
i didn’t think toy story 3 was that sad.
i don’t think eternal sunshine of the spotless mind is that great.
hellboy is good, and hellboy ii is great.
i don’t like romantic comedies.

i’m trying to remember more movies i liked that most people don’t, but i’m having trouble thinking of them? just movies it seems like no one’s seen though they should, like attack the block or brothers bloom. i actually don’t feel like my opinions are that unpopular since i don’t tend to hate movies.

madsmikkelsex asked: 49. A book you want to see adapted to the big screen.

abarat! no! but yes! it’d have to be perfect. and not animated. and not kid-oriented (appropriate for all ages, sure). clive barker is dark, even with his ya books. he is creepy and sometimes things he paints or describes are nauseating. and i wouldn’t want to lose any of that for a ~cute animated movie in a fictional world~. it’d be very ambitious to not be animated, there are very few humans. i can see hellboy style? clive barker has assured that it won’t be done by disney. apparently a film is in the works, but it’s very early on. and he’s made movies before.

the thing is, with books like harry potter or hunger games, even if the movies don’t live up to them, everyone’s read the books. no one’s read abarat. though, i suppose like with hunger games, if a movie was announced, suddenly everyone would. at least i rather hope they would, and that it would get the same sort of respect — if that’s the right word — as hunger games did, if that makes sense. of course that movie was well done and reflected the book accurately.

tl;dr: it’d have to be very well done and have the same tone and atmosphere as the books, otherwise i’d exhaust myself explaining how much better the book is than the movie!

madsmikkelsex asked: 55. Favorite superhero film.

AVENGERS QURL. AVENGERS LEFT THEM ALL IN THE DUST.

And all the other Avengers movies. I do love Nolan’s Batman movies, of course. And I really enjoyed X-Men First Class and the new Spider-man.

madsmikkelsex asked: 39. Biggest Oscar snub

maaaan idk! i always forget who actually wins oscars. i don’t believe wes anderson has even been nominated, at least for best film/director (just looked and he got nominated for animataed feature with fantastic mr fox and writing for royal tenenbaums, no wins). he probably should, but at the same time, i don’t really put too much credit in the opinions of the oscar people.

markruffaloo replied to your post: KITTEN’S NAME IS RORY Rory Gorey Rorschach…

there is also a cat in the musical ‘cats’ that is colored similarly to your kitten named mister mephistopheles.

we have the Edward Gorey illustrated copy of TS Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, and we looked through it for cat names. I saw Mister Mistoffelees there and my mom informed me that the musical Cats is based on the Book of Practical Cats, which I never knew, so now I want to see it! (also I didn’t know the colors were similar, that’s awesome!) is there a good movie version or anything? I figured if we named him after one of them, people would assume we really liked the musical.
